The A550's straightforward mode dial is backed up by a relatively easy to use function menu. There are more camera settings available through the main menu, but you'll find less settings there than on most other Canon cameras. You can print an 11x14 from the A550, and have it come out with minimal distortion. Regardless of what ISO setting you use, images from the Canon A550 are still outstanding.

Making 640x480 movies at 30 frames per second, it can do almost anything most consumer and buyers of the digital camera will need. The PowerShot A550 is has a 16:9 widescreen viewing option which allows you to shoot still photos and movies in a format that's designed for viewing on widescreen televisions or a computer monitor.

Another feature of the A550 is the 3:2 mask which will show you what a 4x6 inch print will look like, after being processed, plus you still can use 2 AA batteries to run the camera, and of course that means you can power up your A550 nearly anywhere on the planet, since AA batteries are fairly easy to find and purchase. You may also want to know the A550 is more energy efficient than the A530 and uses Canon's outstanding and very fast 9-point AF.
